Drake opened Pick 6IX Toronto restaurant last night with few VIPS and medias (Photos)

Multi-Grammy award winner Drake hosted two intimate events at his first-ever restaurant to open in his hometown as a sneak preview before unveiling what is to come. Toronto Times Reporter was lucky enough to be invited at the one that took place last night as few VIPS and media representatives showed up at brand new Pick 6IX Restaurant.

Founded by Drake’s long-time friend Nessell ”Chubbs” Beezer and Montreal star-chef Antonio Park, the culinary and creative direction for Pick 6IX stems from the unique background of each owner, reflecting the diversity of Toronto combine to a small Montreal influence.

Executive Chef Antonio Park presented last night an exclusive first look of the soon-to-be-released menu which included items such as grilled octopus salad, ceviche, expertly crafted Nigiri, Sashimi and Maki as well as Wagyu Tataki.

Chef Park is well-known in Montreal for his successful restaurants: Park, Lavanderia, Kampai Garden and Flyjin, just to name a few. The Montrealer, known to be a very close friend of P.K. Subban, has been introduced to the rapper by the former Montreal Canadien player. The result of this introduction is now called : Pick 6IX.

When it comes to Pick 6IX’s unique menu, esteemed chef Antonio Park has designed a selection of food-forward dishes that will appeal to a variety of guests. From sushi to steak, Chef Park’s menu incorporates his Japanese, South American, and Korean roots creating a diverse culinary experience. When asked about the menu Chef Park stated, “I wanted to create a sustainable, healthy and elevated menu to complement Pick 6IX’s unique atmosphere. Each dish is made with premium ingredients that cater to a broad range of clientele; elite athletes, professionals, couples or a group of friends catching the game.”

6ix Pick Lobster Pasta

We were pleasantly surprised to find a “Lobster Spaghetti À la Montréal” dish on the menu – in honour to the classic Joe Beef’s plate. Chef Park said he is very happy to be part of this amazing project in Toronto, but is heart will always be in Montreal.
