Toronto Coffee & Tea Expo – Who will be crowned Toronto’s best cup of coffee

What: The Best Coffee Competition at Toronto’s first annual Toronto Coffee & Tea Expo, where a panel of celebrity food and drink experts will name the city’s best brew of 2017.

Who: Hosted by CBC’s The Goods co-host Shahir Massoud and judged by Dine.TO editor Stephanie Dickison, renowned Toronto latte artist Barista Brian and Danielle Michaelov of Yes Coffee No Decaf.

When: The Best Coffee Competition will take place on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 3:30 pm during the two-day expo happening April 8th and 9th from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Where: The Glass Factory. 99 Sudbury St. #1 Toronto, Ontario. M6J 3S7.

Why: The first annual Toronto Coffee & Tea Expo will bring 2,000 coffee and tea lovers, talented baristas, roasters, sommeliers, blenders, distributors and retail stores together under one roof to celebrate Toronto’s buzzing café culture and the entrepreneurial energy that surrounds the city.

Tickets: $15 online (entry into the Expo, Best Coffee Competition included). $20 at the door depending on availability.

On Saturday, April 8th 2017 at 3:30 pm, the strong and heated debate on the best way to caffeinate will finally be put to rest as experts come together to decide on Toronto’s best cup of coffee at the first annual two-day Toronto Coffee & Tea Expo. Hosted by Shahir Massoud of CBC’s The Goods, the expo’s Best Coffee Competition will see the panel of experts  dub the city’s premier cup of coffee based on presentation, scent and taste structure. Local celebrity food and drink experts Danielle Michaelov of Yes Coffee No Decaf, Dine.TO (YP Dine) editor Stephanie Dickison and epic latte    artist Barista Brian will sample brews from five of the city’s best indie cafés: MBUNTU, Canadiano, Mishas Mundi and Hatch who will be battling it out for the title of Toronto’s Best Cup of Coffee.

Caffeine-craving attendees will have many opportunities to immerse themselves into café culture throughout the weekend, ending with a Tea It Yourself (TIY) workshop lead by Certified Tea Sommelier Raelene Gannon on Sunday at 3:30 pm, who will teach tea fanatics how to create their own signature tea blends and experiment with unique tea ingredients. Attendees will also be given the chance to participate in the people’s choice vote for best cup of coffee or tea on the way out each day, to be announced following the expo.

About The Toronto Coffee & Tea Expo

 Attendees at the two-day expo will celebrate the city’s best indie cafés with fresh brewed samples while discovering new beans and recipes, learning industry tips and tricks and immersing themselves into café culture by creating their own tea flavours and voting on their favourite cup of coffee.
