Are you struggling to get to sleep at night and finding you’re often fatigued during the day?

If so, you’re not alone. In fact, about one-third of American adults don’t get enough sleep. When this happens, they often struggle to perform at work, interact with loved ones, successfully manage their moods, and function to the best of their capabilities to get through each day.

In this article, you can once more get a restful sleep by using these effective tips on how to fall asleep easier. Read on to discover what they are.

Establish a Regular Calming Bedtime Routine

One thing you can do to fall asleep more easily is to establish a regular bedtime routine and stick to it as much as possible.

You can try going to bed at the same time each night to train your body to expect sleep at that time. You can read, do some light stretching, or listen to calming music to help your body and mind slow down and relax before you turn the lights off.

Watch your Caffeine Intake

Coffee is the highest source of caffeine but it can also be in other food and drinks.

If you are eating chocolate, taking energy drinks, having afternoon tea, or drinking soda with your favorite pizza in the afternoon, that is probably the reason why you can’t get to sleep at night. So if you want to fall asleep easier, be extra careful about what you eat or drink.

Avoid Working or Using Electronic Devices in Bed

Falling asleep takes a lot of time for some so people end up getting bored and checking their phones.

If you have trouble falling asleep at night, you’ll want to avoid working or using electronic devices in bed. This can stimulate your brain and make it harder to fall asleep. No more checking work emails before you drift off or watching Netflix until you drift off.

Keep a Cool and Comfortable Bedroom Environment

Try to create a bedroom environment that is conducive to sleep.

First, keep the room dark – use blackout shades or an eye mask to block out all light. Next, keep the room cool – most people sleep best in a cool, comfortable environment. Finally, make sure the room is quiet – use a white noise machine or earplugs to block out any unwanted noise.

Try Some Sleep Aid

If you are still having trouble sleeping, you can try some sleep aid.

Common sleep aid choices that you can buy over the counter are diphenhydramine, melatonin and CBN isolate. However, it is important to understand the side-effect of sleep aids so skip the ones that give a groggy feeling in the morning.
