It is good to feel good about yourself, but you shouldn’t hate yourself when you take your makeup off. Looking naturally beautiful without makeup is simple and easy, but it can also be a mountain to climb for some.

Positive Affirmations 

Start your natural beauty routine by trying to be more positive about yourself. We often get so wrapped up in how makeup makes us look that we forget to love ourselves under it. 

Perhaps someone once told you that you weren’t beautiful. But, you are. Get up every morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful. Continue these positive affirmations about yourself until you start to believe them. 

We are oftentimes too hard on ourselves and end up putting ourselves down without reason to do so, resulting in poor self-image. 

Affirm yourself every day. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all. 

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Outlook is important, but it is not everything, sometimes we can use the wrong things on our skin. Harsh chemicals might seem like the perfect thing to kill off bad bacteria and get rid of acne or spots and so on. 

However, harsh chemicals often damage our skin more than they help it. Step away from the heavily chemical component products and shift toward using water and natural ingredients. 

Instead of using loads of chemicals on your skin when you cleanse your face, just wash your face with some refreshing cold water, and notice the difference it makes for you. 

If this doesn’t tickle your fancy you can use creams and face washes from natural compounds such as witch hazel, black charcoal, or aloe vera. Always look at the ingredients and see if they work for you! 


You need to use a moisturizer to help regenerate your skin. They do not work for everyone, but finding the right one for your skin can do wonders. If your skin dries out you get itchy, patchy, and generally feel a bit low. 

Moisturizing properly will help to keep your skin in top condition. 

Staying hydrated can also prevent your skin from drying out, but moisturizers will always help.

Find Products That Are Right For You

We could tell you to wax your eyebrows, use a different face wash, or use foundation, but this would be beside the point. We want you to love how you look for yourself, feel beautiful in yourself. 

You need to find products that work for you. We tried one lately that trumped all others. Turns out witch hazel is where it’s at for us, but for you, it could be mint or charcoal. 

If you have skin conditions, you might need something totally different. We are all unique, and therefore our skin is always unique, so you need to find what works for you.

Look After Your Diet

Your diet is one of the most important things. You can use all the skin products in the world, and it won’t matter if you have a terrible diet. 

Eating too many fatty, salty, and high sugar foods will only damage your skin. Looking after your diet is a key way for you to start looking after your skin as what goes into your body will affect how your body appears. 

Too many unhealthy foods will likely result in acne as well as some skin conditions. Greasy, unhealthy foods can even worsen some conditions such as eczema. 

Stop Being So Hard On Yourself! 

The final point is that you need to stop being so hard on yourself. We are often our biggest critics, and we will always judge ourselves harder than anyone else will. 

Remember that you do not need to cake yourself in makeup to look beautiful, you can look beautiful no matter what. But, if you want to do something extra to help your skin look a bit better, so you can feel more comfortable, take some of our tips. 

  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
  • Ease off the high salt, sugar, and fat diet. 
  • Make sure you get enough protein.
  • Stay away from products with a lot of chemicals in them.
  • Wash your face with cold water each day.
  • Always take makeup off before bed.
