Fall Colours Are Peaking in Muskoka — Where to Go and What to Do

MUSKOKA, ON – October 6, 2025 – Muskoka has officially reached 100% colour change and the region is ablaze with vibrant reds, fiery oranges, and glowing yellows – making it one of the most spectacular fall displays in North America. Visitors from near and far are heading north to experience this breathtaking season before the colours fade.

Algonquin Park has now passed its peak

While Algonquin Park has now passed its peak, Muskoka is just hitting its stride. Muskoka’s forests are glowing in full colour, dominated by vibrant reds and oranges. Sugar maples cover hillsides in deep orange and red, red maples have turned brilliant scarlet, and silver maples add softer orange-red tones along lakes and roads. These maples create Muskoka’s signature autumn landscape across forests, trails, and scenic drives.

American beeches, birches, and poplars

Next up is the Golden Encore, from October 10 to 19, when American beeches, birches, and poplars illuminate Muskoka’s forests with warm bronze and golden tones. These sun-loving trees thrive in open landscapes, adding brilliant highlights to the region’s rugged terrain.
