Mysterious Bright Yellow Retro Newsboxes Cropping Up in Toronto

TORONTO, April 9, 2026 — This weekend, from April 10-12, no name® brand is bringing grocery goss to the streets of Toronto. They’re actually dropping limited-edition, 2000s-style print tabloids housed in bright yellow, retro newsboxes in the wilds of downtown Toronto.

I’m sure many of you—myself included— are thinking, ‘how boring and 2000-late,’ but before you go clicking the rolling-eyes emoji, it is actually a kinda cool and playful concept. In fact, these limited-run tabs pack in a fair bit of interesting and entertaining grocery intel.

It’s a cheeky look at why “underthinking” your grocery run (focusing on quality and skipping the unnecessary) is the ultimate flex.

But wait, there is more!

FREE No Name Snacks

Here are the secret locations where TOtimes readers can snag a copy, along with some free no name® snacks, and more:

  • Friday, April 10: Liberty Village (99 Atlantic Ave)
  • Saturday, April 11: The Well (486 Front St W)
  • Sunday, April 12: Ossington (146 Ossington)

If you can’t make it out to a surprise newsbox, you can still join the conversation online. The digital experience launches this Friday (revisit here for the link), where you can explore the full tabloid edition and submit your own goss!
