Toronto’s Spooky Season Skeleton Costume Party returns in October
TORONTO, Sept. 21, 2023 – Squid Lid has just announced that back in Toronto by popular demand, the 2nd Anniversary SKELEDANCE will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Revival in Toronto. In case you are wondering, Skeledance is a celebration of the changing seasons, embracing the longer nights to come and the darker shadows that follow. It’s not exactly a typical Halloween event, but more of a kick-off cavort into the spooky season!
What is Skeledance Toronto?
Skeledance is a fast rising annual spectacle of frightful yet beautiful costumes and makeup, promoting the eclectic artistic talent of Toronto with a diverse selection of musical performances and visual acts, creating a sensation revelation for all in attendance with two floors of entertainment!
The Skeledance main floor will include several live acts – dark electro masked marauders SQUID LID, post-apocalyptic beatmasters Dirty Wizardz, the (literally) fiery Bass Witch coven, and four-piece phantasm Night Chill, complete with a Cabinet of Curiosities balcony lounge. The basement will be presented by local rave heroes psyLush with an unstoppable DJ lineup and unforgettable eye candy decor.
“Skeledance is a season shift celebration honouring the bones we all have within us. Costumes are not mandatory so that the shy & timid have a chance to ease themselves into this annual cavort wild watching the bold + bone-beautious,” said James Zirco Fisher, Producer for Skeledance. “This is a super inclusive party designed to bring the creative out of everyone whether they know they have it in themselves or not,” added Fisher.
What to wear to Skeledance Toronto
Attendees are encouraged to dress up; whether it’s in skeletal bone-wear, another festive being, or give this year’s halloween costume a test run out in the wild. All costumes are welcome.

More about Squid Lid
SQUID LID is a Dark Electro spectacle for the everyday explorer. SQUID LID began in 2009 as an underground rave duo in Toronto, featuring deep bass beats with whimsical circus melodies while performing in signature glowing creature masks. After four official album releases, signing to NGP in Chicago, and appearances at SXSW, NXNE, Astral Harvest, Eclipse, Fan Expo, and touring across North America and Europe, this multi sensory project has evolved itself a number of times over.
Currently focusing its efforts on their three annual costume parties in Toronto (KRAMPUS BALL, MERMAID BALL, and SKELEDANCE), Squid Lid continues to carve out a place for those in need of escapism and a willingness to adventure into the range of strange.
Spearheaded by James Zirco Fisher, the project collaborates with many other companies and collectives like Mothmeister, Rue Morgue Magazine, and psyLush to make new exciting art intended to inspire and uplift the spirit.
