TORONTO, December 23, 2025 — Following a special weather statement warning of up to 10 cm of snow arriving through the night, a special weather statement was issued this morning for southern Ontario, warning once again of strong winds headed this way tonight with gusts of up to 80 km/h. This is certainly enough to send your waste bins over the hill and into a bush, but the larger concern will be possible power outages.
What to expect according to ECCC
What: Northwesterly winds gusting to 70 km/h with isolated gusts to 80 km/h.
When: This evening into the overnight hours.
Additional information: Winds will diminish overnight for areas near Georgian Bay and early Wednesday morning for areas near Lake Ontario. Local utility outages are possible.
