UP Express Service Temporarily Replaced by GO Buses July 11–13 for Track Work

If you have a flight to catch and you were planning on riding the UP Express to Pearson you are best advised to give yourself some extra time for that part of the journey. From late evening on Friday, July 11, until end of service on Sunday, July 13, UP Express rail service will be temporarily modified to accommodate essential track work aimed at improving speed and frequency across the network.

During this time, direct GO Bus service will replace trains between Union Station and Toronto Pearson Airport. GO Bus Route 35A will operate express between Terminal 1 at Pearson and the corner of Station Street and York Street, just steps from Union Station.

Bus service from Union Station to Toronto Pearson Airport:

  • GO Bus Route 35A will operate at the corner of Station Street and York Street (steps way from Union) and run express to Toronto Pearson Airport.

Bus service from Toronto Pearson Airport to Union Station:

  • GO Bus Route 35A will leave Toronto Pearson Airport from Terminal 1 and run express to the corner of Station Street and York Street.

No GO bus service at Bloor or Weston stations

Please note: There will be no bus service at Bloor or Weston GO stations. Riders using these stops are encouraged to use the Kitchener GO Line or local transit options such as the TTC.

Why is Metrolinx doing track work?

Metorolinx says the track work is to prepare for the future St. Clair-Old Weston GO station – a new GO station that is part of the GO Expansion between Bloor GO and the future Mount Dennis GO. “This new project is expected to provide access to local destinations like Weston and Woodbridge to shorten commute times and increase quality of life for locals and visitors alike.,” reads their news release.

Riders are encouraged to check the UP Express Service Updates page for real-time schedule details.

Regular service will resume on Monday, July 14.
