Upcoming scheduled TTC subway closures and weekend service adjustments due to street festivals

Affects subway service on the portion of line 2 Bloor-Danforth, between St George and Broadview stations Sunday morning September 14 only, plus some weekend bus routes

TORONTO, Sept. 12, 2025 — This Sunday, Sept. 14 only, subway service on a portion of the Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, between St George and Broadview stations, will start at 11 a.m. to accommodate beam replacement taking place on the Prince Edward Viaduct.

While the line is interrupted, shuttle buses will run in place of subway service, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding locations. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.

Weekend service adjustments due to street festivals and construction

• Starting at 9 a.m. on Fri., Sept. 12 until 11 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 14, road closures will be in place for the Ukrainian Festival on Bloor St. W. between Glendonwynne Rd. and Jane St. Several TTC routes will redirect during this time, including 26 Dupont, 35/935 Jane, 55 Warren Park, 71 Runnymede, 77 Swansea, 79 Scarlett Road, 149 Etobicoke-Bloor, 189 Stockyards, and 300 Bloor-Danforth Night. 

• Starting at 5 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 13 until 11 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 14, road closures will be in place for the Roncesvalles Polish Festival on Roncesvalles Ave. from Dundas St. W. to The Queensway. 504A King and 304 King Night will redirect with the last stop at Sunnyside Loop.

• On Sat., Sept. 13, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., buses on the 90 Vaughan bus route will redirect from Vaughan Rd. between St. Clair Ave. W. and Jesmond Ave. to accommodate a crane lift. Buses will operate along Oakwood Ave. and St. Clair Ave. W.

Line 1 – Early nightly subway closures between Sheppard West and St Clair West stations

Mon., Sept. 15, through Fri., Sept. 19, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Sheppard West and St Clair West stations will end nightly at midnight for planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

All subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
