Weston GO/UP Station Mural Unveiled

On Saturday, November 22, Metrolinx held an unveiling ceremony for the Weston GO/UP station mural project. Led by Metrolinx and the Weston Village Community Association, in partnership with STEPS Public Art, the City of Toronto, the Weston Village BIA, and local artist Brother Moises, the project introduces a vibrant 4,000 square foot mural along the station’s sound wall at Weston GO Station, located at 1865 Weston Road.

“Chasing Wind” is the largest impressionist painting in Toronto and celebrates Weston Village’s unique identity as the Gateway to the Humber Valley, a landscape that has connected people and cultures for centuries.

The Humber River, designated a Canadian Heritage River, was once a vital travel route for Indigenous peoples and remains a powerful symbol of connection, movement, and renewal.

At the mural site, there is also a QR code for visitors to access a sound piece designed to centre Low Vision and Blind community members and provide an exciting listening experience for everyone.

Collaborations like this are what bring our projects to life and strengthen the connection between our infrastructure and the communities we serve.
