Year of the Dragon: Celebrate Lunar New Year at Vaughan Mills

VAUGHAN, Feb. 1, 2024 – Vaughan Mills invites the community to join in celebrating the Lunar New
Year at their immersive Wishing Tree and House of Illumination experience, in support of Mackenzie Health. To
welcome in the Year of the Dragon, the Vaughan Mills Event Court will be transformed into a scenic landscape
reminiscent of traditional Chinese gardens from February 1st to 13th.

Visitors will enjoy writing down and hanging their well-wishes on the wishing tree or dragon arches, as well as a walk-through immersive experience, surrounded by glowing lanterns in the House of Illumination.

The Lunar New Year festivities at Vaughan Mills will kick-off on Saturday, February 3rd from 11:00 am to
1:00 pm
, with cultural performances and events including a traditional lion dance, live music and special visit
from the God of Fortune. Also, guests can enjoy a cooking demonstration by Toronto restaurateur and celebrity
chef, Trevor Lui
as he shares his dumpling making secrets.

“We are thrilled to provide shoppers with a special cultural experience that also brings the community together
while helping raise funds in support of Mackenzie Health,” says Elizabeth Khuu, Vaughan Mills Marketing
Manager. “Our Lunar New Year celebration continues to grow and is always the perfect way for us to begin a
year filled with meaningful community events showcasing different cultural traditions, while providing
entertainment for the whole family.”

To date, Vaughan Mills has donated over $10,000 to Mackenzie Health Foundation and is thrilled to once again
donate $1 to every wish hung (up to $10,000). There is also a Spend and Get promotion that provides mall
customers who spend a minimum $288 or more a chance to play a lucky game to win prizes. Show your
receipt and spin to win wonderful retailer items.
