Canadian International Air Show returns – Here’s how it will work
The Canadian International Air Show has just announced that it will be returning to the skies over Toronto on Labour Day weekend 2021. New this year, Torontonians won’t require tickets to the exclusive air show zone, instead, onlookers are asked to situate themselves along a 14 km public viewing space in order to accommodate social distancing
As only one of three Canadian airshows that will be taking place, the CIAS will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and the commemoration of Captain Jennifer Casey.
A few things will be different this year following the COVID pandemic hiatus.
In accordance with current social distancing guidelines, CIAS will not have their ticketed Exclusive Airshow Zone in 2021. Instead, they will have their narration streamed live as a Thank you to all Canadians for the sacrifices they made during the past 18 months.
The Airshow asks attendees to follow current COVID guidelines. There is 14 kms of public viewing space between the Humber Bridge & the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to accommodate social distancing. Parking is available at the Exhibition Place and Ontario Place, or fans can take public transit.
In addition to watching the air show, attendees will also be able to listen to narration about the aircraft and the performers.
“We are looking forward to returning to the skies above Toronto again this year!” said Lori Duthie, Executive Director, Canadian International Air Show.
The CIAS will be providing information on the free online narration, updates on performers and other important information as it becomes available. Follow them on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter or visit http://www.cias.org.
