Freezing Rain Warning issued for Toronto Saturday night

A Freezing Rain Warning has been issued by Environment Canada at 9:30 pm Saturday going into early Sunday morning.

Canada’s trusted weather souce warns “Periods of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle tonight into early Sunday morning.” The rain will also be mixed with light snow and should switch to rain around 6 – 7 am when temperatures climb to 2 degrees celsius.

Driving in these conditions use extreme caution. Untreated surfaces like roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.


The Periods of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle have begun at 9:30 om and as the temperature is expected to rise above the freezing mark early Sunday morning the risk of freezing rain will end.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
