Markham and Durham also receive ICF’s Smart21 honours
The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) has selected the City of Mississauga as one of the Smart21 Communities of the Year. The Smart21 announcement is the first stage in ICF’s annual Intelligent Community Awards cycle. ICF selects 21 finalists to receive this recognition, based on a survey of communities from around the world.
“We are very proud that as a Smart City, Mississauga has been recognized globally as one of the top Intelligent Communities of the Year,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. “This further demonstrates that our City is the most connected in Canada, and the importance of our ongoing efforts to utilize technology to create a high quality of life that supports all of our residents.”
As one of the Smart21 cities, Mississauga is among the group of finalists from which Forum’s Top7 Intelligent Communities of the Year will be chosen in June 2021. Also from Ontario, Markham and Regional Municipality of Durham have also been recognised as Smart21 Communities of the Year. Markham was also a Smart21 selection last year along with Newmarket.
