TORONTO, MAY 21, 2025 — Casa 73, the city’s newest restaurant bringing the soul of Italy to downtown Toronto, has officially opened its doors at 20 Bay Street, just steps away from Scotiabank Arena. The family-owned and operated restaurant offers an authentic and sophisticated dining experience that brings a modern take to Italian culinary traditions.
“Casa 73 was born from my lifelong dream to own and operate a restaurant with my family that feels like coming home, a place where the warmth of Italian hospitality meets upscale dining,” said Sonny M., owner of Casa 73. “Incorporating the number 73, my lucky number, into the restaurant’s identity felt like the perfect way to make this passion project uniquely personal.”
Modern sophistication meets Italian inspiration
The 7,000-square-foot space accommodates 190 guests in the main dining area and bar, with an additional private dining room for 12 guests concealed behind a secret door in Casa 73’s beautiful glass-encased wine cellar. Design elements throughout Casa 73 blend modern sophistication with Italian inspiration, featuring touches of green, onyx, gold, and marble that create a sleek yet inviting atmosphere. A distinctive red-leaved tree serves as a natural focal point, while Italian-style busts and curated décor elements, such as a charming “mi casa, su casa” sign at the hallway’s end, perfectly capture the restaurant’s welcoming spirit to establish a contemporary and timeless setting.
Thoughtfully crafted menu

Casa 73’s thoughtfully crafted menu focuses on using the freshest, quality ingredients. With traditional and modern pastas, pizzas and entrées like Saffron Seafood Risotto, a housemade Gnocchi Burrata, Diavolo Pizza, and Veal Chop Milanese, each dish celebrates the rich diversity of Italian regional cuisine.
The bar program at Casa 73 features a carefully curated selection of Italian wines, spirits and bold and flavourful cocktails. The stunning bar area offers an exclusive draft experience with Peroni, Italy’s iconic beer, as the sole tap offering.

Beautiful patio dining
Just in time for the summer season, Casa 73 will be launching its new patio space on Harbour Street, providing an “al fresco” dining option for 65 guests in one of the city’s most vibrant areas. Weekend evenings at Casa 73 also feature live music performed on the restaurant’s baby grand piano.
Perfectly positioned within walking distance of the Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre and Toronto’s Financial District, Casa 73 offers an ideal setting for pre-game dinners or post-event celebrations, as well as business lunches and special occasions.
