Nick Mantas declared Councillor Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt
Toronto City Clerk John Elvidge has declared the official results for the City of Toronto’s January 15 Councillor Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt by-election. Nick Mantas was declared elected to Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt.
Nick Mantas has taken the oath of office today and assumes duties as City Councillor for Scarborough-Agincourt.

Nick Mantas, was the former chief of staff to outgoing councillor Jim Karygiannis, who was removed from his post in September 2020 due to a campaign spending violation in the 2018 municipal election. Mantas won out over 28 candidates running in the byelection for Scarborough-Agincourt. According to the city’s unofficial results, Mantas won with 3,261 votes just 223 votes more than Manna Wong, who received 3,038 votes.
“I look forward to working with councillor-elect Mantas on the issues that are important to him and the residents of Ward 22.
“This is a crucial time for our city as we continue to face the challenge of COVID-19. I know councillor-elect mantas is committed to helping our efforts as a city government to confront this virus and make the residents and businesses of Scarborough-Agincourt get through these extremely tough times,” said Mayor Tory.
Health and safety measures for voting places were developed in consultation with Toronto Public Health and successfully implemented during the advance vote and on election day. These measures exceeded the requirements for other businesses and services that remain open. Along with the health and safety measures that were implemented in the voting place, Toronto Elections for the first time offered eligible voters to vote by mail as a safe and secure alternative to in-person voting.
