November’s Spotlight at The Second City Features Red Hot Sili Peppers and Summer Dad

The monthly sketch comedy showcase Spotlight at The Second City is happy to announce Red Hot Sili Peppers and Summer Dad as the featured troupes on November 18-19, 2025 at The Second City’s Theatre ‘73.

Each month Spotlight at The Second City features two premier troupes performing 30-minute shows for a two-night run. Hosted and produced by Taylor Hreljac and Gabe Meacher, this series presents sketch comedy’s best troupes in their best light. 

Hot off their recent sold-out show Pep Talk at Comedy Bar Danforth, the Red Hot Sili Peppers featuring Emily CallahanJulia Ettlinger, and Glenna Walters are excited to bring their latest and greatest to The Second City stage. Winners of the 2025 Sketchiest Sketch Troupe Award at TOsketchfest, audiences can expect spice, danger, women, denim, champagne, wigs, chaos, clarity, kissing, makeup (you’re welcome), and more.

Summer Dad, a codependent troupe of Gen Z/Millennial hotties, shares their POVs to make audiences belly-laugh with their relatable and hilarious antics. When it comes to acting, writing, and music, the Summer Dad ensemble featuring Chris Johnson, Chrissy Sharma, David Hudon, Kaitlyn Stollery, Kevin Forster, Rachel Powell, and Taylor Hrejlac shines in all seasons. Founded in 2022, Summer Dad has created a multitude of original sketch comedy revues for festivals such as Toronto Fringe, TOsketchfest, Newfoundland and Labrador Sketch Fest, Denver Sketch Festival and independent productions across North America while performing regularly in Toronto.

Taylor Hreljac and Gabe Meacher are collaborators and producers who co-run Toronto Sketch Comedy, a grassroots hub for live sketch in the city. They are a steady presence in Toronto’s comedy scene creating space for emerging performers and championing original work. You may have seen their writing and performances at Just For Laughs, Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival and NYC Sketchfest. Their work blends character driven comedy with a deep commitment to building community and keeping live comedy thriving.
