TORONTO, April 5, 2026 — Today, Ontario Premier, Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark Easter Sunday:
“Today, I join Christians across Ontario and around the world in celebrating Easter Sunday and honouring the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is a time to reflect on the enduring message of compassion and forgiveness at the heart of Jesus’ sacrifice.
As families mark the occasion through prayer, church services, spending quality time together and maybe even an Easter egg hunt, it is also a special time of the year as we welcome the arrival of spring, with longer days, warmer weather and more opportunities to gather with friends, families and neighbours.
To everyone celebrating, I hope this season brings joy and renewed hope for the days ahead.
