TORONTO, Dec. 20, 2022 – Mayor John Tory and local Councillor Chris Moise (Toronto Centre) recently visited the City of Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence Market at Front and Jarvis Streets to promote the Market’s holiday shopping opportunities and expanded hours, and to recognize local business owners.

The Market recently expanded hours of operation to better serve Toronto residents and visitors. Shopping hours on Sundays and weekday evenings give everyone even more opportunities to shop local this holiday season. This year, holiday season hours at the Market include a few modifications to the expanded shopping hours.

“Whether you live in Toronto, or are in the city visiting, I encourage everyone to stop by the St. Lawrence Market to support our local vendors. Beyond just holiday shopping, the Market is a great place to see some of the best that our city has to offer. I hope that everyone takes advantage of the Market’s extended holiday hours on Sundays and weekday evenings. It was great to join Toronto’s residents and visitors at the market this Saturday and to encourage people to visit the Market.” – Mayor John Tory

St. Lawrence Market is made up of over 120 merchants, farmers and vendors who are known for their high-quality food and specialty items. Many Torontonians consider the St. Lawrence Market “the place to go” to prepare for their holiday entertaining, choosing from the wide variety of cheeses, meats, produce and prepared foods to entertain and feed their guests. In addition to promoting the expanded holiday hours, Mayor Tory stopped by Wayne’s Meats to congratulate the business on 50 years and counting of serving Torontonians in the Farmers Market and wish owner Wayne Kienitz well in his retirement.
