Taco Fest Toronto 2025: 250+ Tacos, Top Chefs, and the Ultimate “Best Taco” Showdown

TORONTO, July 11, 2025 – Taco Fest, Toronto’s most anticipated food festival, returns for its 9th annual year from August 8th to 10th at Fort York. Prepare for a weekend packed with over 250 varieties of tacos from more than 50 of the city’s top chefs and vendors, featuring both traditional Mexican flavours and innovative new creations.

Taco lovers will have the chance to vote for their favourite taco all weekend leading up to the final day, where the votes are counted and the esteemed Taco Fest judges will announce this year’s “Best Taco” winner. The winning Taco vendor will receive the prestigious golden taco trophy and ultimate bragging rights. 

This year’s Taco Fest vendor line-up will feature local favourites including Rosa’s (2024 Best Taco Winner), Kong’s Hot Tacos (2023 Best Taco Winner), Lit Up Jerk, Atomic 10, Fiesta Empanada, Birria Catrina, Born2eat, Rick’s Good Eats and many more amazing local vendors. This year’s menu highlights include an array of must-try, unique, and classic tacos: 

Unique Tacos

  • Alijandro’s Kitchen: Taboon Tacos – BBQ Chipotle Beef, a crispy whole wheat pita taco filled with smoky chipotle shredded steak, lettuce, pico de gallo, and choice of sauce.
  • The Bollywood Taco: Butter Chicken Birria Tacos – Featuring tender butter chicken folded into crispy birria-style tortillas with spiced makhani consommé.
  • Rebozos Taqueria: Taco Nopal-Hongo, a cactus and mushroom taco with Guajillo sauce.
  • 6 Spice Rack: Brisky Mac – A hard shell taco with slow-cooked beef brisket, creamy mac n cheese, pickled hot peppers, chipotle aioli, fried onions, and cilantro.
  • Dope as Duck: Wanna Smash? Smash Burger Taco, combining a smash burger with a flour tortilla, topped with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mac sauce.

Classic Tacos 

  • Tacos 101: Al Pastor Taco – Marinated pork cooked on a trompo, garnished with pineapple, onion, cilantro, and green salsa.
  • Balam Toronto: Carnitas Tacos – Slow-cooked pork crisped and topped with pico de gallo on a corn tortilla.
  • Placos Tacos: Birria Tacos – Slow-cooked beef brisket with dry chiles and spices.
  • Ko’ox Hana: Barbacoa, juicy brisket slow-cooked with traditional spices, served with onions and cilantro.
  • Ghost Taco: Birria Supreme – Braised beef with melted cheese, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, garlic crema, green onion, and consommé for dipping.

For those who like to turn up the heat, Canada’s largest hot sauce bar will be available to spice up the taco experience, and Tequila connoisseurs can taste from a wide selection at the exclusive Tequila & Mezcal tasting.

The vibrant festival atmosphere is filled with interactive experiences such as salsa dancing lessons, Mariachi performances, brand activations, guacamole-making classes and a full-service bar featuring the perfect pairing cocktails like Margaritas and Palomas.
