Toronto, ON July 25, 2023 – Glaucoma, also known as the “silent thief of sight”, is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide that affects nearly 800,000 Canadians today. To raise awareness of this eye disease, Toronto-based photographer, Jordan Tidd, is showcasing an inspiring exhibition titled “Summer Sight” by Eyes Open Photography. The exhibition will take place on Saturday, July 29, at CAPSUL STUDIO located in Liberty Village, Toronto from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm EDT.

The event will showcase Jordan’s “Paradise Island Collection” featuring underwater and island photographs that celebrates the power of sight. A portion of the proceeds generated from the exhibition will go towards glaucoma research at the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada.

According to a 2022 survey by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, less than half of Canadians (47 per cent) are familiar with glaucoma, with this number dropping to 37 per cent among younger Canadians aged 18-34.

Glaucoma awareness is extremely important to me; and now and forever, Eyes Open Photography will be donating a percentage of all profits towards Glaucoma research. Find a piece that reflects yourself or create feelings of appreciation and love for our world; and I would be honoured to have it on your walls,’’ says Jordan Tidd.
