Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto named second in Best Italian Restaurant in the World 2023 by 50 Top Italy
Toronto, ON. Dec. 16, 2022 – Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto – the award-winning, contemporary Italian fine dining destination located on the 38th floor of Toronto’s celebrated Westin Harbour Castle Hotel at 1 Harbour Square has been named in 2nd place in the Best Italian Restaurant in the World 2023 international awards by the prestigious 50 Top Italy. Don Alfonso executive chef, Daniele Corona was invited to attend the high profile ceremony Gran Galà della Cucina Italianaat the Teatro San Babilain Milano, to accept the award among his peers this week.
Only the absolute best
A true global mapping of quality Italian restaurants in the world, 50 Top Italy recognizes the best restaurants both inside and outside the country’s borders. Each year, more than 350 inspectors travel the world, respecting anonymity and autonomy to compile the influential list. Liberty Entertainment Group’s restaurant took second prize to Da Vittorio in Shanghai, followed in third place by Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Tokyo. Don Alfonso was the only Canadian restaurant to be recognized in the top ten on the world stage; Cioppino’s in Vancouver was ranked in 33rd place, as the only other Canadian destination.
