Today on November 11, Metrolinx is providing complimentary transit services to veterans, CAF members (and one companion), as well as family members of deceased veterans across the GO and UP Express transit network.
“On Remembrance Day, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by dedicated veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in service to our country,” reads the release from Metrolinx.
When travelling today, kindly wear or carry something identifiable, such as a medal, beret, blazer, uniform, Veteran’s Service Card or a Canadian Military Service ID.
Vets and Canadian Military Ride for FREE year-round on the GO
Earlier this year, Metrolinx announced that veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces can travel for free year-round on GO Transit with a valid ID, such as a Veteran’s Service Card or Canadian Military Service ID.
Eligible customers also have the option to set a new “CAF Members and Veterans” fare type on their PRESTO card to take advantage of One Fare discounts.”
