462 new cases of COVID-19 mark Ontario’s biggest single day jump

TORONTO, ON., April 3, 2020 – Today, The province of Ontario has confirmed that 462 new cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported, including 14 new deaths related to the virus. Today’s numbers mark a 16.5 per cent increase over yesterday’s total as the provincial total increases to 3,255.

The total number of COVID-19 related deaths has now grown to 67. There are 1,023 cases now considered resolved.

There are 462 people hospitalized, 194 in the ICU with 140 of those patients in the ICU are on ventilators.

Today, Ontario Premier Doug Ford along with public health officials is expected to be revealing details in a full briefing to the public clearly painting a picture of where the pandemic can go.

On a positive note the backlog of tests has been steadily dropping over the past few days and now stands at 1,245.

Canada now has 11,747 positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed and Quebec has the most number of cases with 5,518.
