Dust off your tiara and practice your curtsey so you will be ready to meet the ‘Bridgerton Queen’ at Toronto’s first-ever Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience. The event is presented by Netflix, Shondaland and Fever and runs Wednesdays to Sundays from October 14 to December 4, 2022. Relive the Bridgerton Regency-era in costume, music and dance as the Cinespace Studios at 8 Unwin Avenue are transformed into a regal Regency-era ballroom.

Shondaland’s Bridgerton is one of Netflix’s most popular English-language series with 656 million hours viewed in the first 28 days of Season Two and Season One accounted for 625 million hours viewed in its first 28 days!

The Queen’s Ball Bridgerton Experience comes to Toronto

“The idea of hosting a Bridgerton Queen’s Ball was inspired by the enormous success of Bridgerton and as a way to engage fans in a tactile experience,” says Iris Arias of Netflix Events. “We first launched The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience at the historic Biltmore Hotel where its ornate architecture added enormous texture and atmosphere to the ball. The ball has also been held in Atlanta, B.C., Montreal and other great cities and we are now excited to present the ball in Toronto.,” said Arias.

“When guests arrive they are greeted by a stunning wisteria tunnel that acts as a portal into 1813 England. Step into the ballroom in Studio D and hear live musicians. Meet our version of Queen Charlotte as guests are presented to the queen and line up to bow or curtsy as the Queen nods her head in approval. Guests are captivated by a beautiful theatrical performance in the ballroom where you will also be able to show off your own dance moves. You may even catch the Queen’s eye and be crowned Diamond of the evening!”

There are plenty of selfie opportunities. In a separate room guests will discover a second Queen’s throne where they can pose for photos. “We have many of the original costumes from the Bridgerton series on display in glass cases so guests can admire the exquisite detailing on each gown.

During the evening guests will also be handed the Lady Whistled own papers to catch up on the latest gossip. There are also themed cocktails for purchase, a portrait studio, and immersive spaces.

Isis has attended several balls in multiple cities and is amazed by some of the handmade gowns that guests are wearing. “There are some mind-blowing costumes that guests have made for the occasion,” says Isis.

Costumes are not required (but they are encouraged)—semi-formal or business attire is fine, and just in case you forgot your tiara at home, there’s a shop (the infamous Modiste) that sells accessories such as tiaras, fans, gloves, pocket watches and more.
