Do West Fest Returns to Toronto This Weekend —Here’s What’s Happening

One of Toronto’s most popular three-day street festivals is back this weekend as Do West Fest takes over Dundas Street West from Ossington Avenue to Lansdowne Avenue from June 5 to 7. The annual celebration transforms the Little Portugal neighbourhood into a lively pedestrian festival filled with live music, local vendors, food, art installations and family-friendly activities.

When is it happening

Festival hours run Friday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Multiple stages will host performances throughout the weekend, including the Community Stage, alongside neighbourhood activations, shopping opportunities and entertainment spread across the festival grounds.

Getting there

Getting to the festival is easy by public transit. Organizers recommend taking the TTC, with the 505 Dundas streetcar serving the area and nearby access available from Ossington, Dufferin and Lansdowne stations on Line 2. Visitors travelling from outside Toronto can also connect through GO Transit.

Parking due to lack of transit options

There is no on-site parking available during the festival. Those choosing to drive will need to find street parking or use nearby parking lots in the surrounding neighbourhood. Dundas Street West will be fully closed to vehicles between Ossington and Lansdowne for the event, with road closures beginning Friday morning and remaining in effect until early Monday.

For awesome worldbeat music, food, shopping or simply to explore one of Toronto’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, Do West Fest offers three days of free entertainment and community celebration in the heart of the city’s west end.
