BRAMPTON, ON., March 22, 2020 – A Tim Hortons/Petro Canada employee in Brampton has tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the city’s Mayor Patrick Brown asks customers who visited there over an 11-day period to self-isolate for 14 days.

The employee was working at the 11980 Hurontario Street location, which is just north of Side Road 250. In the Mayor’s Twitter post on Sunday morning, Patrick Brown said those who visited the the Tim Hortons/PetroCanada locations to purchase gas, coffee or supplies between March 9 and March 20 to self-isolate for 14 days.

Petro-Canada tweeted that they have temporarily closed the store (including fuel) to thoroughly clean and sanitize the location. And they are “asking store staff to self-isolate for 14 days per the provincial health guidelines.”

Toronto Public Health advises if you think you have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has it, find out if you should visit an assessment centre and where the nearest location is.

If you’re having difficulty breathing or experiencing other severe symptoms, call 911.

Always call your health care provider before visiting.
