Cineplex Events’ Classic Film Series Shines Light on Works of Master Filmmakers

Cineplex Events is set to scorch the screen this summer with works of three legendary directors added to its Classic Film Series lineup. Film lovers will have the unique chance to watch iconic classics The Godfather, Some Like It Hot and North by Northwest on the big screen.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time, the epic crime drama The Godfather is a touchstone of cinema.  Based on Mario Puzo’s novel of the same name and with the impeccable direction of Francis Ford Coppola, the film stars such legendary names as Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall, James Caan and Talia Shire.

Some Like It Hot (1959) – Billy Wilder

The all-time highest-grossing comedy in its time, Some Like it Hot is considered one of the most influential movies and greatest comedies ever made. Helmed by legendary director Billy Wilder, and featuring brilliant performances by Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe, this outrageous and hysterical comedy follows two male musicians who are on the run from the Chicago mob and join an all-female band disguised as women.

North By Northwest (1959) – Alfred Hitchcock
