TORONTO, ON., Sept. 11, 2020 — Another popular Toronto event has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns as the Church-Wellesley Village will not be hosting a street event for Halloween on Church.

“In alignment with the Stage 3 provincial guidelines, The Church-Wellesley Village will not host a street event for Halloween on Church,” the Village organizers stated on Twitter and Instagram.

The announcement was made on social media today but Church-Wellesley Village BIA says they are working to create a calendar of events at the local businesses for a safe alternative way to celebrate Halloween festivities in the village.

The popular annual event features elaborate creative costumes, a street party, dancing, live entertainment, great eats and all out fun festivities.

“To continue to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we encourage you to please stick to your social bubble. We must all do our part to help keep our community safe.”
