Mayor John Tory visits London to bring investment and jobs to Toronto

Mayor John Tory is leading a business mission to London, U.K., on March 10 and 11, to encourage investment and job growth in Toronto. 

The mission will promote Toronto as a competitive global business centre and a hub for research and knowledge development, as well as pitch the Toronto advantage to specific companies considering investing in Toronto. The mission will also promote Toronto as a destination for tourists, conventions and business travellers. The delegation is scheduled to meet with 15 companies during the two-day mission.

Toronto’s successful economy, quality of life, and welcoming attitude continue to attract people and companies from around the world,” said Mayor Tory. “During my business mission to London and with the help of our partners, I will have the opportunity to illustrate those traits to U.K. corporations looking to invest in Toronto.” 

In London, Mayor Tory will meet with leaders of corporations spanning a variety of sectors including: hospitality, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence and e-commerce. 

Mayor Tory will be joined by representatives from Toronto Global, the Toronto Region Board of Trade, the World Trade Centre Toronto, Tourism Toronto, and Exhibition Place.
