NHL teams advised not to conduct morning skates, team meetings

This morning National Hockey League PR said, “Given the uncertainty regarding next steps regarding the coronavirus, Clubs are advised not to conduct morning skates, practices or team meetings today.

The NHL is expected to make a statement on whether they will be following suit with the NBA and some other pro leagues by suspending the season following the WHO announcment that COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic.

No word yet from the Toronto Maple Leafs on whether their game against Nashville will be held tonight at Scotiabank Arena.

Other major sporting events and leagues cancelled or suspended include: World Figure Skating Championships, La Liga, Serie A, Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Man City v Arsenal, J-League, Chinese Super League, World Indoor Athletics, Olympiacos v Wolves, Moto GP Qatar, Indian Wells, Six Nations rugby matches, PSG vs BVB and most recently Team McLaren’s F1 crew has gone into self isolation.
