TORONTO, Sept. 21, 2024 – There will be no Barrie GO rail service, and Lakeshore West GO customers between Union and West Harbour will see GO train service reduced to hourly to accommodate critical track work this weekend (Sept. 21-22).

FOR BARRIE LINE CUSTOMERS:

This Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, Barrie line rail service will be temporarily suspended to accommodate critical track work that will bring faster, more frequent GO train service across the network.

Metrolinx says they are performing this track work in order to widen the Barrie Line corridor and enable the future installation of a second track. The end goal is to transform Barrie GO rail service to a more frequent, two way, all day rapid transit experience.

During this time, GO Buses will replace train service only between Highway 407 Bus Terminal and Allandale Waterfront GO station. Customers intending to travel to Union Station are encouraged to use the TTC located near Highway 407 Bus Terminal or Downsview Park GO.

Northbound and southbound rail trips will travel slower on the Barrie line on Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24, as a result of this construction work. Some trip times will be adjusted – please checkgotransit.com for updated schedules before travelling.

No GO Train service at King City GO on Monday, September 23

In addition, there will be no GO Train service at King City GO on Monday, September 23 due to critical rail and platform construction. For customers travelling to or from King City GO station, please connect with local transit at Aurora GO or Rutherford GO

FOR LAKESHORE WEST GO TRAIN SCHEDULE CHANGES:

On Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, Lakeshore West rail service will be temporarily modified to accommodate critical track work that will bring faster, more frequent service across the network.

Train service between Union Station and West Harbour GO will operate on an hourly schedule.

  • GO Bus Route 12, 15 and 18 connections may be adjusted.
  • Please check the schedule before your trip.
