Revelstoke Mountain Resort to Host IFSA-sanctioned Freeride World Tour qualifier

Revelstoke, BC – January 4, 2024: Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) has announced its role as host and organizer of the upcoming 2024 Revelstoke IFSA Qualifier 4* event. The competition will be staged in the North Bowl on January 25, starting at 10 am.

Revelstoke’s North Bowl venue is iconic. It features cliffs, chutes, and seemingly endless opportunities for airtime over rugged exposures that are fit only for the best Freeriders. Nearly every current World Tour rider has had to pass through this playing field.

The IFSA Qualifier events are a vital steppingstone in the journey of upcoming athletes, giving them the opportunity to accumulate points across 60 global events. These points are pivotal in determining an athlete’s Global Seeding List ranking and eligibility for the renowned Freeride World Tour.

“The next wave of Tour riders and house-hold names in Freeride Skiing and Snowboarding will be live in Revelstoke on January 25th. We invite spectators to join us at the top of the Ripper Chair, where they can witness the impressive skills of these remarkable athletes as they navigate some rowdy terrain in North Bowl,” encouraged Events Manager Kate Roberts. “Expect an electrifying atmosphere and an unforgettable display of talent.”

With $10,000 in prize money and dreams of qualifying for the World Tour, these athletes are motivated to deliver their best performances.

The event will culminate in an award ceremony at 5:00 PM at The Paul Mair Plaza, immediately following the competition. Attendees can celebrate the athletes’ achievements and immerse themselves in the camaraderie that defines the freeride community.

*In the event of adverse weather conditions, January 26 will serve as an alternate date for the competition.
