TORONTO, ON, Oct. 15, 2021 – Toronto, the GTA and pretty much all areas of southern Ontario have been issued a Special Weather Statement by Environment Canada warning of heavy rainfall in some areas. Basically, if you are living within a 3-hour drive of Toronto, your area will most likely see some heavy rains over the coming hours into tomorrow.

In addition to the GTA cities, the blanket Special Weather Statement includes: Kitchener, Guelph, Peterborough, Orilllia, Kawarthas, Orangeville, Shelburne, Collingwood, Barrie, Innisfil, Cobourg, Belleville and Mount Forest and more.

Environment Canada says expect “Heavy rainfall with amounts reaching 20 to 40 mm. Isolated amounts up to 50 mm possible.

“Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move across the area tonight through Saturday as a low pressure system and associated cold front push through the region.

Environment Canada says the weather statement could be updated as Rainfall Warnings in specific areas of the city at a later time.
