TORONTO, Nov. 1, 2023 – Barrie Line GO rail service will be temporarily suspended from Friday, November 3 at approximately 9:00p.m. until end of service on Sunday, November 5.

Why is the Barrie GO train line not running this weekend?

Metrolinx says the work being done along the Barrie corridor is critical track maintenance and upgrades to ensure the safe and reliable operation of their train service.

“This work will also focus on platform upgrades at Maple GO and switch upgrades near Aurora GO as part of the GO Expansion project,” reads the news release from Metrolinx.

Shuttle Buses

  • GO shuttle buses will be replacing train service for those travelling between Allandale Waterfront GO and Union Station.
  • Downsview Park GO will not be served by any GO bus replacements – customers are encouraged to use the TTC to travel during this time.

Regular service will resume on Monday, November 6.

Buses do not have the same capacity as trains and shuttle buses may experience longer than normal travel times. Additional information on service adjustments is available HERE.

Riders are encouraged to use gotransit.com or triplinx.ca to plan their trips as schedules and connection times have changed for this weekend.
