The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival Takes Over Calgary’s Prince’s Island Park this summer

CALGARY, AB February 13, 2024 – Celebrating its third consecutive year, The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival is excited to unveil the full line-up for their weekend in Calgary, taking place August 23-25 at Prince’s Island Park. Newly announced today are headliners Russell Peters, an award-winning comedian, actor, host, writer, producer, and one of Rolling Stone’s ‘50 Best Comics of All Time’ and Iliza Shlesinger, award-winning comedian, actor, writer, producer, and author. Adding to the excitement is the addition of comedian, writer, podcast & digital series host, and one of Variety’s Top Ten Comics to Watch in 2023 Hannah Berner, Austin Film Festival Top Comedy Feature and Ladies of Laughter award winner Zarna Garg, comedian and content creator Steven Ho, and comedian and This Hour Has 22 Minutes star Trent McClellan and rising viral comedy star and Calgary local Malik Elassal.

Previously announced headliner and comedian, podcast host, actor, and New York Times bestselling author Tom Segura, alongside actor, comedian, MAD TV alumni, and host of the Tiger Belly and Bad Friends podcast Bobby Lee, and the hilariously relatable comedian, actor, and producer Jessica Kirson will round-out the star-studded line-up.

Last November, the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival (GOCF) announced it would be doubling down on the laughter and good times by expanding their eclectic comedy and entertainment festival from four cities to eight across North America in 2024. Delivering a one-of-a-kind experience since 2021, the festival known for its extensive and varied lineup returns to Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, and Vancouver and adds Winnipeg, London, Ottawa and Spokane, WA to the tour next summer, creating an opportunity for deep collaboration while bringing even more laughter to fans and audiences from coast-to-coast, and expansion into the U.S.

Committed to creating a festival environment in which everyone feels welcomed, GOCF, produced byTrixstar LIVE, to date has raised and donated over $350,000 to local charities in each of their markets. GOCF continues to strive towards creating a diverse, inclusive, and safe experience that celebrates and features all forms of performance comedy, from local emerging acts to superstars. The festival pledges to continually evolve their robust green event practices year over year, making certain that they leave nothing but laughter in their wake, while also improving accessibility efforts to ensure everyone has access to the same festival experience.
