Toronto Just Unveiled FIFA Fan Festival Plans and It’s Way Bigger Than Expected

TORONTO, April 28, 2026 —It is still hard to believe that Toronto is going to be hosting some World Cup matches. In fact, the stadium is pretty much ready to go! Meanwhile, the City is also preparing to turn the city into one giant global block party this summer as FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto officially revealed new, larger-than-imagined details, stunning site renderings, early entertainment programming, and ticket information for what promises to be one of the biggest public celebrations in the city’s history.

Set against the iconic backdrop of Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway, this free, all-ages festival will run over 22 match days from June 11 to July 19, 2026, transforming downtown Toronto into the beating heart of the FIFA World Cup™ and turning up this soccer-mad city to a fever pitch!

Mayor Olivia Chow, joined by Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik, Ontario Minister of Sport Neil Lumsden, Toronto music icon Kardinal Offishall and festival partners, unveiled the ambitious vision today — one that positions Toronto not just as a Host City, but as a global cultural destination.

“Ontario is proud to support the delivery of FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto as a cornerstone celebration on the world’s biggest sporting stage this summer. Our government is excited to take part in an unforgettable tournament experience that will create a safe, inclusive and high-energy space, bringing communities together, driving economic activity and showcasing the best of Ontario and Toronto to the world,” said Neil Lumsden, Minister of Sport.

The World Comes to Toronto — For Free! Sort of

For 22 electrifying days, fans can watch all 46 FIFA World Cup™ matches live, while also diving into a city-spanning celebration of music, food, art and culture designed to showcase Toronto’s identity as “The World in a City.”

This isn’t simply a watch party — it’s Toronto’s international showcase.

Kardinal Offishall Leads the Soundtrack of the Summer

Toronto hip-hop legend Kardinal Offishall will anchor the festival’s energy through Soundclash Society, a powerhouse DJ collective featuring some of the city’s top selectors and surprise guests.

The festival’s early entertainment lineup reads literally like a Canadian music hall of fame, with appearances from:

Alessia Cara, Deborah Cox, k-os, Bedouin Soundclash, Big Wreck, Murda Beatz, Skratch Bastid, Walk off the Earth, Tyler Shaw, Shawn Desman, The Strumbellas, Dwayne Gretzky, Choir! Choir! Choir! and many more.

With support from FACTOR, emerging Canadian artists will also take centre stage throughout the tournament.

According to Deloitte Canada’s FIFA economic impact assessment, the tournament could generate up to $940 million in economic output across the GTA and support more than 6,600 jobs, making FIFA World Cup 2026™ one of the most financially significant sporting events Toronto has ever hosted.

Toronto’s Historic World Cup Moment

Toronto will host six FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches, including:

  • Canada’s first-ever men’s FIFA World Cup™ match on home soil on June 12

For Mayor Olivia Chow, keeping the Fan Festival free was essential.

“Keeping this free was important, so everyone has the opportunity to take part and feel part of this historic moment.”

Tickets and Premium Experiences

While general admission is free, fans can also purchase premium packages for enhanced experiences, offering elevated viewing and exclusive festival perks.

Additionally, 500 tickets per day will be reserved for community distribution through local youth and community groups, ensuring wider access.
