Toronto Police Operations just announced that due to the expected protests against COVID restrictions, to protect Hospital Row, from 11:30 a.m. University Ave between College St and Queen St will be closed. College St – from University Ave to Yonge St – will also be closed.

Hospital staff, workers, patients, family and people collecting patients will have access.

TPS say these closures could remain in place all weekend and they will continue to assess the situation and make any adjustments where needed. We will continue to update the public.

The abundance of hospitals located on University Avenue include Mount Sinai Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto Rehab Centre, Toronto General and The Hospital for Sick Children.

Torontonians who need to get around downtown this weekend are asked to please avoid demo areas, where possible, as it is likely to cause delays.
