Toronto’s 22nd TD Festival of South Asia 2024 is expected to attract 200,000 visitors
Just announced! Toronto’s popular TD Festival of South Asia is returning for its 22nd year and will take place on July 20th and 21st, 2024 (Saturday and Sunday) at Gerrard India Bazaar, Gerrard Street East, Toronto, between Coxwell Ave. and Glenside Ave. If you can’t fly to South Asia this summer, come to this festival and experience a slice of the culture!
This year the 22nd TD Festival of South Asia 2024 embraces multidisciplinary arts and foods from all the countries in South Asia. Visual Arts, Performances and Live Music emanates from the stage all weekend.
Admission is FREE!
The Festival runs on Gerrard St. East, Toronto from Coxwell Ave. to Glenside Ave.
The main focus of the TD Festival of South Asia, one of Toronto’s larger community events, celebrates the diversity of South Asian culture. The TD Festival of South Asia is a multi-cultural experience of tastes, sounds, and sights of South Asia as well as arts and culture.
Supported by TD for the last 10 years, the 22nd annual festival is touted as the one of the largest two-day, South Asian weekend street festivals in North America. It’s a multi-cultural experience of tastes, sounds and sights of South Asia.
Main stage performances
Featuring main stage performances from noon to 11 pm, as well as a kids zone, arts and culture market, participatory workshops and activities and roaming entertainers along the street.
Food and clothing vendors
Local businesses have food and clothing stalls along the street. The festival puts the “bazaar” back into the Gerrard India Bazaar. Over approx. 200,000 visitors are expected to attend over the two-day weekend event. Local patrons from GTA, visitors from the USA and abroad too, come to meet people from their community, participate in cultural activities with their families.
The TD Festival of South Asia is funded by the Government of Ontario and City of Toronto.
