Toronto’s Maddy Ringo Launches EP at the Rivoli
APRIL, 2024 (TORONTO, ON) – Toronto born and bred, and ESA graduate, Maddy Ringo will be headlining at Rivoli on Thursday May 23 Maddy to launch her new EP Falcon Song. The Rivoli, a legendary Queen West live music venue, is where the likes of Adele, John Mayer, Drake, and Dave Grohl have graced the stage early in their careers.
Singing on stage since childhood
Maddy has been singing since the age of 6, learning performance skills and classical training with the Canadian Children’s Opera Company and made her solo debut on stage at the Four Seasons Centre with the Canadian Opera Company at age 14.
K.D. Lang meets Joni Mitchell?
Now a singer-songwriter of her own music, Maddy’s soulful voice and exceptional poetry have been compared to the bluesy style of K.D. Lang with the folk-Americana feel of Joni Mitchell. She is only 19 and attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she is obtaining a Bachelor of Musical Arts in classical voice.

“Wake Up Woman”
Maddy launched her first album “Wake Up Woman” in 2023 as a collection of original songs she composed during her years at Etobicoke School of the Arts about female adolescence, leaving home, inheriting an unstable world and coming of age in Canada. It can be found on all major streaming platforms across the world. On Thursday May 23 Maddy returns to Rivoli to launch her new EP Falcon Song which puts a modern spin on American folk storytelling traditions with themes of restlessness and memories.
