TOtimes Books: HERE ONE MOMENT by Liane Moriarty
TOtimes Books – This novel explores themes of existentialism – destiny, fate and free will, and Leane Moriarty’s latest home run Here One Moment could have you humming the Tim McGraw hit, “Live Like You Were Dying.”
It’s a twisty, well-developed plot that starts off with a routine 90-minute domestic flight in Australia during which one nameless passenger goes seat to seat telling everyone how and when they will die! Perhaps no big deal if you’re 92. But if you were 43, would you change your lifestyle?

Moriarty, the cagey #1 New York Times bestselling author, offers a third person focus on the lives of a half dozen passengers and their response as the predictions begin to unfold, along with a first-person narrative on the “Death Lady” herself.
The author is known for her keen observations on the human condition, along with a dry sense of humour, so the book is at times philosophical, frightening and downright funny. There’s only one problem: at 500 plus pages, it’s too long. Character backstories are great, but there’s just too much detail for this page turner. No worries though. I suspect a shorter version will be on the Netflix screen real soon.
A great read. 9 out of 10
