TORONTO, May 8, 2025 – After a 13-month process including four surveys and more than 850,000 votes, the Utah Mammoth has been chosen as the permanent brand identity of Utah’s NHL franchise , the team announced Wednesday.

Mammoth was the clear fan favourite in the final round of voting, according to the team. The name honours the massive animal that lived in Utah during the last Ice Age about 10,000 years ago.
The primary logo is called the “Mountain Mammoth,” and it includes Utah’s snow-capped Wasatch Mountains on the crown, as well as the complete outline of the state of Utah within one of the mountain peaks. Additionally, mammoth tusks curve upwards in the shape of a ‘U,’ signifying Utah. This inclusion supports the team’s rallying cry, “Tusks Up.”

The Mountain Mammoth logo (reminiscent of the Sabres’ old buffalo logo) inspired by the massive mammoths that once populated Utah, can be seen charging across the team’s dark blue home jersey, while the Mammoth’s away white jersey features “U-T-A-H” angled diagonally (Rangers style) downwards ind dark blue.

With a mammoth tusk embedded in the U underscoring the team’s identity and unwavering state pride, the colours will be the same used by the Utah Hockey Club during the team’s inaugural 2024-25 season: Rock Black, Mountain Blue and Salt White.

Now with an inspired branding for fans to identify with, the Mammoth can charge ahead with ‘Tusks Up’ building on the momentum of its successful inaugural season.
