11th Annual Underground Comedy Railroad Tour Comes to Toronto During Black History Month 2023
TORONTO, January 31, 2023 – The Underground Comedy Railroad, a five city stand-up comedy tour February 4-20, 2023 is coming to Toronto’s Comedy Bar West in February as part of its tour of Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario. These comedy showcases will celebrate the 11th Anniversary of The Underground Comedy Railroad, an annual tour that has traveled across Canada for Black History Month since 2012.
Beginning February 4 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, The Underground Comedy Railroad will hit the road with Black comedians from across Canada including tour co-founders Rodney Ramsey and Daniel Woodrow, plus Kevin Christopher, Tamara Shevon, George Rivard, Alan Shane Lewis, Keesha Brownie, with special guests Travis Lindsay, Evan Carter, Zabrina Douglas, and Cedric Newman.
The Underground Comedy Railroad is known for being the first ever all black comedy tour in the country, bringing diverse perspectives to regions who have never experienced this kind of unique cultural event.
The Underground Comedy Railroad Tour was created by Rodney Ramsey and Daniel Woodrow in 2012 to create opportunities and introduce the voices of black Canadian comedians to new audiences abroad. Every year a new line-up of comics is selected for their hilarious and uniquely Canadian comedic perspectives on everything from race to everyday life.
Since launching in March 2021, The Unknown Comedy Club, Canada’s premiere, Black-owned, online comedy club, has been filling the comedy void, and setting a higher standard for online shows. The Unknown Comedy Club is a live events streaming platform that specializes in broadcasting the best interactive virtual stand-up comedy and corporate team building experiences. Founded by Rodney Ramsey and Daniel Woodrow, The Unknown Comedy Club – by way of Toronto and Montreal – has gained rapid success for presenting a high quality entertainment experience for performers and audiences alike.
