An Opera About frozen Pizza Is Coming to Toronto — Here’s What to Know about Suprema Opera

Yes, opera and frozen pizza! You heard that right. It’s the opera for aficionadoughs. Yes, sory we can see your eyes rolling now. So, Dr. Oetker is bringing something truly unexpected to downtown Toronto: a custom-written, one-act opera, only 11 minutes long, created to launch its new premium frozen pizza, Suprema

Here’s the what, where and why: 

  • A live, 11-minute pop up opera (and 3 minute aria) debuts in downtown Toronto — free and open to the public 
  • Location: TD Music Hall, 178 Victoria St, Toronto, ON M5B 1T7 
  • The story: a sculptor brings a frozen figure to life, a metaphor for how Suprema revives frozen pizza with soul, craft, and passion 

As mentioned in our introduction, the Suprema Opera coincides with Dr. Oetker’s new line of “artisanal-style” Suprema frozen pizzas.

Calabrese ‘Nduja with hot honey 

Five-cheese blend with DOP Grana Padano

The performance mirrors the brand’s vision: Suprema is rooted in Neapolitan tradition but made for the modern Canadian consumer, with 24-hour triple fermented dough, tomato passata made from sun-ripened tomatoes from Northern Italy, stone-oven baking, and premium toppings.
