Ontario is now offering the vaccine to people over 60

50% of Ontarians 80 and older have now been vaccinated

After announcing that as of Friday, over 50% of all Ontario residents aged 80 and over have received their first shot, on Saturday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford took to social media to announce that the province will begin offering the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to “people over 60” at participating pharmacies and primary care centres.

The Premier said the province will have approximately 700 pharmacies participating in vaccination program over the next two weeks.

A visit to the Government of Ontario site has all the details about who can receive the vaccine and where to receive it, although it does say anyone who is turning 60 to 64 on the Ontario government website, so it is best to confirm when booking.

On the website it says “If you are turning 60 to 64 in 2021, you may be eligible to get the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Ontarians who want to find out if they are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to visit their booking page at ontario.ca.

Those living in Ontario are also encouraged to speak with your health care provider to determine if this vaccine is right for you before booking an appointment.
