Celebrity basketball tourney returns to Toronto for the UHN’s West Park Tournament of Stars

Toronto, ON (March 12, 2025) – The sixth annual West Park Foundation Tournament of Stars returns this month to support UHN’s West Park Healthcare Centre and its life-changing rehabilitation services. NBA and WNBA alumni players and hoop-loving West Park supporters will come together on Saturday, March 22 at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport at U of T for an exciting celebrity basketball tournament.

Teams will hit the courts for a one-of-a-kind experience, competing alongside former NBA and WNBA stars including seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson, five-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA scoring champion Angel McCoughtry, two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer and NBA All-Star Jamaal Magloire, to raise critical funds for UHN’s West Park Healthcare Centre and its work helping people get their lives back after serious injury and illness, including stroke, amputation, lung disease, and severe trauma.

Tickets to attend and watch the tournament are available for $25. It’s a family-friendly, fun-filled day of basketball that also features a 3-point competition open to all attendees as well as a kids’ skills clinic.

  • NBA Champion and four-time NBA All-Star Metta Sandiford-Artest (formerly known as Metta World Peace)
  • Two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer
  • NBA Champion and two-time NBA All-Star Rashard Lewis
  • NBA All-Star and former Raptor Jamaal Magloire
  • Former Raptors Michael Bradley, Matt Bonner, Jerome “JYD” Williams and Jamario Moon
  • As well as former professional players Cuttino Mobley, Ticha Penicheiro, Corey Maggette, Mario West, Mario Chalmers and Ricky Davis

2025 Event Highlights

  • Celebrity Draft Night – On Friday, March 21 at the Toronto Events Centre, participating teams will gather for an exclusive draft cocktail party, where they’ll pick their NBA/WNBA alum based on their team’s fundraising efforts. The more a team raises, the higher their draft pick. NBA/WNBA alums will pitch why they should be the first pick in the draft.
  • Celebrity Basketball Tournament – On Saturday, March 22 at the University of Toronto’s Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport, the tournament heats up with five-on-five competitions. The day also consists of a three-point contest, and a kids’ basketball clinic hosted by Jerome “Junkyard Dog” Williams.
