TORONTO, January 21, 2025 – Following the release of two best-selling cookbooks and the launch of hot for food at home, Canada’s go-to plant-based queen, Chef Lauren Toyota, is kicking off 2025 with some heat. Partnering with Fresh Kitchen + Juice Bar, a pioneer in plant-based dining since 1991, Chef Toyota is bringing her most iconic recipe to the masses with the addition of hot for food‘s Buffalo Cauliflower Sandwich to menus across the GTA. Available today through to April 21, this bold fan-favourite will be complemented by the Cloud Nine Power Shake, a vibrant offering that boasts a unique blend of maple and tahini flavours, reflective of Toyota’s culinary creativity.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Chef Lauren, a trailblazer in the plant-based food movement and someone whose values deeply align with ours. Lauren’s innovative approach to plant-based cuisine and her passion for creating delicious, accessible meals perfectly complement what we stand for,” explained Virginia Doiron, Director of Marketing, Fresh Kitchen + Juice Bar. “We’re excited to introduce these new menu items, co-created with Lauren, as they showcase her creativity and commitment to flavour, offering something truly unique and exciting for our guests!”

Bold flavours and crave-worthy recipes

A household name in the plant-based space, Chef Lauren Toyota is known for bold flavours, crave-worthy recipes and reimagining comfort food classics. Since starting her YouTube channel over a decade ago, Toyota has released two best-selling cookbooks (Vegan Comfort Classics and hot for food all day) and become one of North America’s most sought-after private chefs. Creating drool-worthy dishes, Toyota continues to be one of the internet’s most-trusted voices when it comes to transforming vegetables into meals that any carnivore would love.

“My inspiration behind hot for food has always been to encourage people to eat more plants by showcasing how they can all be delicious,” explained Toyota. “Fresh is the perfect partner for me because they also believe that anything is possible with plants. I can’t think of a better way to kick off the second decade of hot for food than creating new food memories with guests at Toronto’s favourite place to grab a fresh and satisfying meal.”

Coming together to celebrate the fusion of Fresh’s ethos of wholesome, nourishing food with hot for food‘s signature indulgence and boldness, this partnership highlights what is possible when two of the biggest names in herbivorous eating dream big.
