City of Toronto to commemorate National Day Against Gun Violence

Tomorrow, Mayor Olivia Chow and members of Toronto City Council will join community leaders, families affected by gun violence and residents to commemorate the National Day Against Gun Violence, honour victims, and create space for reflection, healing and community connection.

Date: Friday, June 5
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Peace Garden, Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.

In June 2023, the Government of Canada proclaimed the first Friday of June as the National Day Against Gun Violence in Canada. The day raises awareness about the causes and impacts of gun violence while encouraging prevention, healing and community-led efforts to build safer communities.

The Toronto Sign at Nathan Phillips Square will be dimmed Friday evening in honour of all victims of gun violence.
