COVID-19 outbreak declared at Mississauga’s Credit Valley Hospital

MISSISSAUGA, ON., April 1, 2020 – Yesterday, as a result of four in-patients being confirmed positive with COVID-19, an outbreak has been declared by Trillium Health Partners.

Trillium Health Partners said in a statement that they have been working closely with Peel Public Health taking immediate precautions to protect patients and staff.

The four patients identified as having positive COVID-19 tests are being safely relocated to a unit exclusively caring for patients with COVID-19. All other patients on the unit are being actively monitored for symptoms associated with COVID-19.

“Under the guidance of THP Infection Prevention and Control, the unit was placed on appropriate precautionary measures, and all steps have been taken to quickly manage and identify any individuals with potential exposure to the virus,” reads the statement.

As of 10 am on Arril 1 there are 174 cases of COVID-19 in Mississauga with 112 in Brampton and 16 confirmed cases in Caledon.
